Thesis title:  Geological-Petrological Criteria of diamond-bearing rocks of the Kokchetav Massif, Northern Kazakhstan.
Supervisor:  Prof. A. Takasu (2000-2002).

The aim of my project is to investigate the origin of diamonds and search for their deposits. The objective of my thesis is development of new criteria for the discovery of diamond deposits. We systematized diamond deposits on the basis of their carbon compositions. The study will be based mainly on EPMA analysis. Carbon isotope analysis of carbonate rocks and diamonds from the Kokchetav Massif will be also carried out. The results will help to confirm the proposal that the source of the carbon in diamonds is the carbonate rocks, minerals and gases which are always present in the rock masses of all known types of diamond deposit.
